2021 has been a year of quick growth for the cyber security industry. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, the proliferation and variety of cyber incidents have increased and so has the need to implement and heighten security.
Based on our internal estimation, Isaac Guasch, our in-house Cyber Security Specialist has, this year once again, compiled a list of the worst and most impacting cyber incidents of the year in terms of financial impact and reputational damage.
2021 saw a host of attacks that range from those that leverage current popular trends to threats that target governments or the travel sector, outlining the need for prioritising Cyber Security as an essential part of any company’s risk management strategy and the need for resilience testing and a well-planned defence.
This year, as a special “Bonus Track”, he also highlights two cases that particularly caught our attention, and that emphasize the growing impact of cyber threat activity on enterprise risk across all industry segments.
