Construction and contracting professionals can be sued for something they did or did not do in the course of providing a quality service to their clients. TMHCC’s Contractors Professional Liability policy provides defense costs and coverage solutions addressing allegations of negligence for the professional exposures that a contractor faces.
How do we know? Consider this…
An HVAC contractor had installed an HVAC system at a police station in the Midwest. The police station was built over a parking garage where the police vehicles were stored and repaired. Two dispatchers alleged lifetime disabilities because the HVAC system brought carbon monoxide into the station. The HVAC contractor was subsequently sued. The policy might have been triggered by the personal injury to the occupants, however, it would not have covered the ripping and tearing necessary to fix the existing system since there was no property damage to the building itself. The professional liability policy paid for the repair.*
